Year in review 2021
I love annual reviews. They capture the Magic Moments, the special moments in professional and private life, the anniversaries and the highlights of the year that is coming to an end. They replay what happened… especially now – so close to the turn of the year – it’s always fine to revisit the past year.
Virtual kick-off event to start 2021
2021 got off to an impressive start in January with the Canon Central & Eastern Europe Virtual Kick-Off Event. 22 countries were present live when Canon celebrated its kick-off event as a virtual event. As a virtual moderator, I had the great task of conjuring up an atmosphere in the participants’ homes that was in no way inferior to a live event.
Everything is new in March
At the beginning of March, my website www.ronnyleber.com was relaunched. After launching my own blog in 2020, it was now the turn of the entire website to serve customers in the best possible way. The positive reactions to the relaunch showed me that all the work and effort paid off 100%.
In the same month I started my career as a presenter at OE24.TV. To date, I have 1144 hours of live TV and more than 500 interviews to my credit. A very special highlight for me was the EURO soccer championship in the summer, where I was allowed to be presenter and commentator.
Anniversaries must be celebrated as they fall
There were two anniversaries to celebrate this year… First, the 10-year anniversary with the Austrian Football Association. 10 years earlier, in March 2011, my first match with the ÖFB was the 2:2 against Belgium. In May it was already the next anniversary. I was allowed to accompany the last 11 ÖFB Cup finals as a stadium moderator – the first 3 still in the Ernst Happel Stadium and since then every year in the Wörthersee Stadium.
Other long-standing co-operations such as the Bounce Fight Night, the AGON Box Gala and also the Vienna City Marathon took place again this year. And so one annual highlight followed the next.
Sport & Business come together
In October, what belonged together came together. As someone who had studied both sports and business administration, I hosted the sportsbusiness.at Breakfast Club for the first time.
Sustainability and technology made by Huawei
In the same month, I then took the stage as a business presenter at Kursalon Hübner in Vienna’s Stadtpark for the Huawei European Innovation Day 2021. Together with Julia Furdea, we took a closer look at the topic of sustainability and technology.
First Ski World Cup moderation
In November, there was a very special premiere treat. For the first time I was allowed to moderate a Ski World Cup as a stadium moderator: the parallel competition at the Flexenrace in Lech-Zürs. As a trained ski instructor, it was a special pleasure to be part of Austria’s number one national sport.
What remains of 2021?
For me, 2021 was a particularly exciting and at the same time a particularly challenging year. I’m already very excited about what the next year will bring me and look forward to 2021 full of excitement, drive and confidence.
How do you celebrate your year in review? Do you also draw a résumé? What were your highlights of the year? Feel free to write me in a comment.
